Workshop: Respecting Students in Digital Pedagogies

This workshop offers a critical framework for pedagogies that respect students’ privacy rights, the right to their own data and the right to tell their own stories within the context of technologies that often strip them of those rights. The framework specifies the iterations of digital redlining: the creation and maintenance of technological policies, information practices, and investment decisions that enforce class boundaries and discriminate against specific groups. People will leave the workshop with a set of critical tools and questions to help them frame their digital pedagogies within a context of respecting student rights.
