Affect and Faculty Development
While scholars like Sarah Ahmed and bell hooks have explored the affective realm when it comes to teaching and being a professor, there is less about the experience of “staff”, and even less-so faculty developers. Librarians are the exception however, writing eloquently about the affective elements of their role on campus, particularly as they embody both a liminal and feminized space. Using auto-ethnography and role play, this workshop will explore the place and space and complexities of the affective role of a faculty developer.
